ASSOCIATE, CLIENT SERVICE

Job Summary: The Client Service Associate will assist with all client relationship development functions.

Responsibilities
  • Development of client materials, including performance attribution, product education, product positioning
  • Assist with special projects that enhance client relationships and retention
  • Coordinate and prepare client oriented due diligence reporting
  • Create detailed customized client reporting, including development of cross selling materials
  • Work closely with Research, Accounting, Risk Office, Relationship managers, Consultant Relations, Compliance and Trading to keep abreast of current processes, procedures, and firm initiatives
  • Work closely with client and consultants to ensure the timely receipt and dissemination of client related information
  • Prepare analytical information, including charts and graphs for use in client related presentations
  • Onboarding of separately managed and fund clients
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus minimum 5 to 7 years experience in investment management

ASSOCIATE, COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Job Summary: The Compliance Officer position will entail direct participation in First Quadrant’s Compliance Program, with focus on First Quadrant’s portfolio guidelines compliance efforts. The Compliance Officer will also play an active role in a broad range of Compliance tasks and initiatives. The successful candidate for this position must have high ethical standards, be detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, interpret, monitor, and maintain client-directed and regulatory portfolio guidelines and restrictions utilizing Eze automated investment compliance monitoring module
  • Manage, prepare, and issue client-mandated compliance reports and certifications
  • Collaborate with other First Quadrant’s internal departments to identify and resolve compliance issues
  • Actively participate in First Quadrant’s general compliance monitoring and testing efforts
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and the implementation of new systems; and
  • Research regulatory changes and requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years related experience and/or training within the investment management industry
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in performing portfolio guidelines compliance functions, including, but not limited to, rule coding and monitoring using an automated investment compliance monitoring system (preferably the compliance module of Eze OMS)
  • Experience in identifying, analyzing and interpreting investment guidelines, rules, and restrictions specified in client investment management agreements (IMAs), prospectuses, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Undertakings for Collective Investments in Transferable Securities (UCITS) rules
  • Solid understanding of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940, as well as their underlying rules. A working knowledge of CFTC and NFA rules is also preferred
  • Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail
 

ASSOCIATE, EQUITY RESEARCH ANALYST

Job Summary: First Quadrant in Pasadena seeks an Equity Research Analyst. Will independently research, analyze and model quantitative research topics relevant to stock selection and portfolio mgmt; perform statistical/economic research; translate fundamental ideas into investment models; interpret and present research results; provide other research and support as needed. Requirements include: Advanced degree in finance, economics, or data science; familiarity with time series analysis, factor analysis, machine learning; knowledge of Python/Pandas.

Responsibilities
  • Independently research, analyze and model quantitative research topics relevant to stock selection and portfolio management
  • Perform statistical and economic research using financial data to improve existing investment strategies and develop new ones, in collaboration with the investment team
  • Translate fundamental ideas into investment models
  • Recommend and implement investment models
  • Discuss research findings with the rest of the investment team
  • Interpret and present the research results to an audience with varied backgrounds
  • Monitor existing portfolio holdings
  • Provide other research and organizational support as needed
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in finance, economics, or data science
  • Demonstrated ability to independently complete high-level, investments related research
  • Familiarity with time series analysis, factor analysis, machine learning
